Late on Wednesday Night, Police Lieutenant Colonel Pramot from Banglamung Police Station was called to
a rented room in Soi Kow Tha Low following numerous complaints received suggesting a Buddhist Monk
was living with a woman inside the room.
This is not permitted under the rules and regulations pertaining to ordained Monks and the Police were obliged
to follow up the complaint and attended the location and found Pra Niwatidi-yanong inside the room sleeping
close to a woman, Khun Chom aged 41.
There was no evidence that sexual intercourse was taking place and the Monk claimed that the pair were very
good friends but were not in a relationship.
Despite his story he was taken to see the Chief Monk at the Suttawat Temple who ordered the monk to disrobe
and was removed from the Monkehood.

The Chief Monk also wanted to speak with the woman, however when Police went to find her at the room, she had disappeared.
